City Of Summit, NJ

The City of Summit, NJ is known for progressive services and well-kept neighborhoods that show pride of ownership. An older but prestigious community, Summit prides itself on its active town center and the quality and abundance of cultural, social, and recreational opportunities. Newcomers will discover many beautiful, spacious homes on generous lots that are further enhanced by the city’s location on the ridge of the panoramic Watchung Mountains. Summit’s public school system is consistently ranked outstanding, with 90 percent of its students admitted to college. There are also many private school options.
The city is comprised of six square miles of tree-lined streets, parks and fields, playing areas, running tracks, a par 3 nine-hole golf course, and a family aquatics center. Youth and senior services abound and there is a long list of programs and recreational activities to choose from. If you are looking for shopping and dining options, The Summit Town Center, as well as The Mall at Short Hills, are easily accessible to area residents. There is a seasonal farmers’ marketopen from June trough late November.
The arts are alive and well in Summit. With a large concentration of art galleries, antiques shops, and performance venues, Summit is a cultural hub in northern New Jersey. Residents and visitors can enjoy the arts all through town with Summit Public Art installations. There is also the Visual Arts Center of NJReeves-Reed Arboretum, and the Summit Playhouse. The Paper Mill Playhouse, a regional theater, is located in nearby Millburn, NJ.
Summit is located just 30 minutes from New York City with direct access by train and bus into Manhattan via NJ Transit. It is conveniently located to major highways and Newark Liberty International Airport.
